Blog Week 3: Ch. 6 You’ve Learned your ABCs, Now Practice your CBAs

“Do you have the desire to create something new, the strength of conviction to believe your creation will be successful, and the reservoir of energy necessary to thrust it into the marketplace?”

The CBAs stand for Conceiving, Believing, and Achieving. These are considered the entrepreneurial process. First you must conceive an idea or a dream, as discussed in earlier chapters how important dreaming is. Dreaming creates the initial concept of what you can achieve. Which leads to believing, believing is just as important as conceiving the dream. Without believing then it is just an idea with no will to achieve it. People have new ideas every day, but very few actually move forward with their idea to turn it into reality, because you cannot do that without believing and having faith in your idea. How many times have you or someone you know said I could have done that, I had the same idea! But the difference is, you didn’t do it, and they did. The difference is they believed in their idea, that it could be something, that it could be a reality, that it could help people, and you didn’t believe in your idea enough to make it more than just an idea, more than a dream. Believing in your idea then leads to achieving your dream. Achieving takes ambition and perseverance. Without the ambition to create something and make the marketplace notice what you have created then all your hard work may go to waste. If no one knows about such a great product they won’t buy it. This reminds me of the movie “JOY” where she went so many places to try to sell her product and no one would take it, until finally she got an opportunity to show the world and it sold like crazy. She knew it was a great product and she never stopped believing that or preserving no matter how many people turned her away. We hear this story time and time again with entrepreneurs they tend to never give up. They try again and again until they can get it right, or find something that fits the market.

Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your objective. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

In the article The Top 6 Secrets To Achieve What your Mind Can Conceive, you learn the power of positive thinking.

  1. Think as if it is impossible to fail, so really just don’t think about the possibility of failure, don’t think of what if it doesn’t work out. You must go forward fearlessly and only think about how it will be successful.
  2. Time is of the essence, don’t push things off until tomorrow, get done what you can today to move one step closer to your business.
  3. Focus, similar to the first secret, focus on your path and what you are wanting to achieve, focus on only the good things.
  4. Do not settle for good but for the “best”, always be striving for improving and how to make your business better.
  5. Find diamonds as companions, have a support system of friends and family that can help you, encourage you and give you confidence in your business.
  6. “To God be the Glory”, every day we are given in this life is a gift, and we should make the most of this gift to share our talents with the world and believe in our ideas enough to make our dreams come true.
